A Romantic Wedding at Casa de la Siesta in the Golden Hills of Andalusia - Vejer de la Frontera, Spain
Freya and Dan’s wedding at Casa de la Siesta in Vejer de la Frontera, Spain was one of those celebrations where the setting, the people, and the atmosphere all came together in perfect harmony. Surrounded by rolling golden fields, distant hills, and the iconic windmills of Andalusia, this secluded venue felt like a little world of its own—an intimate hideaway made for love stories. The traditional Andalusian scenery became an essential part of both the wedding documentary photography and the videography we created for their day.
The day began with Dan, relaxed after a morning of golf, hanging out with his groomsmen by the pool. These are the moments we love to capture in our documentary wedding photography and videography—real, unposed, and full of life. Freya was glowing as she got ready with her bridesmaids, slipping into her dress with the biggest smile. I have never seen a bride feel so like herself and so genuinely happy to wear her dress, it made me smile so much! Casa de la Siesta gave us the perfect backdrop for her details, blending into the Andalusian setting, absolutely love bringing the nature in to the storytelling with the shoes and jewellery.
The ceremony was filled with colorful flowers and heartfelt vows that reflected the couple’s adventurous spirit. Their first kiss, framed by cheering guests, is one of those timeless memories that felt so true to their story. Cocktail hour unfolded in the gardens, surrounded by hills and warm light, before guests gathered in the courtyard for dinner under strings of lights. A champagne tower kicked off the evening, followed by laughter, emotional speeches, and plates of delicious Andalusian food. Guests had traveled from Australia, the UK, and all over the world to celebrate Freya and Dan, and the speeches made it clear just how loved they are. Their personalities complemented each other perfectly, and the joy between them was contagious from start to finish.
As the sun set, we took Freya and Dan for a short walk through the countryside road. The portraits by the windmills were some of their favorites, a reminder of how much they loved the landscape around them. It’s always our goal as wedding photographers and videographers in Spain to weave the scenery into the storytelling, creating a collection that feels timeless and personal. Back at the courtyard, the first dance opened the party and the night turned into pure celebration. With the open bar flowing and the dance floor packed, the energy was electric. For us, this was the perfect reminder of why we love our work—capturing weddings with a natural, documentary approach so couples can relive their story exactly as it was.
