Otherworldly Dali inspired wedding // Carmen de los Mártires, Granada, Spain
The second day of Silveen and Dara’s wedding in Granada carried the same ethereal, Dalí-inspired dreamworld as their welcome celebration—moody, surreal, and endlessly romantic. The morning began at the Santa Paula Palacio, where the couple got ready in beautifully dim, atmospheric rooms. With the groom, there was laughter, portraits, and playful moments as his friends helped him prepare and he even posed with the flowers. In contrast, the bride’s preparation was pure elegance, with her accessories, bouquet, and shoes captured in soft, dramatic light that perfectly echoed the tone of the evening to come.
The ceremony and wedding day took place at the stunning Carmen de los Mártires, one of Granada’s most iconic venues. Instead of the usual bright Andalusian sun, the skies turned cloudy and dramatic, blending seamlessly with the candlelit mood of the welcome party the night before. The couple exchanged letters they had written to one another, filling the moment with raw emotion as their family and friends looked on. The setting, the weather, and the emotions all worked in harmony to create something truly unforgettable.
Silveen and Dara were such a special couple to photograph—not only deeply in love, but also incredibly talented in creating and shaping a vision. With their eye for detail and talent for art direction, they brought together ideas that felt personal, meaningful, and cinematic. Because of that, I knew from the very beginning that I wanted to create something truly unique with and for them—images that matched the beauty of their vision and told the story of who they are.
Afterwards, we slipped into portraits against the extraordinary florals and décor. The deep purples, dark greens, and moody tones by Carolina Bouquet gave us a dreamlike backdrop, while the planning by Alhambra Weddings ensured the day flowed flawlessly. In just a few minutes with the couple, we created some of my favorite portraits—stylish, personal, and deeply connected to the atmosphere of the day.
The celebrations continued with champagne, oysters, and jamón cutting during cocktail hour, followed by a dinner setting that can only be described as a work of art. Instead of round tables, a snake-like arrangement stretched across the space, glowing with hundreds of candles. As the sun set and the candles flickered to life, the entire scene looked like something out of another world. Before guests entered, I had a few quiet minutes with the couple in this extraordinary setting, capturing portraits that felt like stepping into a surreal painting.
When the guests joined, dancers performed a soft, etheric piece that set the tone before Silveen and Dara made their entrance. Dinner unfolded by candlelight alone—no other light, just a sea of warm flames surrounding heartfelt speeches and laughter. Later, the couple shared a sweet moment together on the dinner floor, dancing just for themselves, before the energy shifted indoors for the party. Cigars, an open bar, a dress change, and an overflowing dance floor carried the night into full celebration mode.
Silveen and Dara’s two-day wedding was truly like stepping into a surreal universe—moody, emotional, Dali inspired and unlike anything else. As an editorial wedding photographer based in Spain and working worldwide, it was an honor to capture such an extraordinary celebration at Carmen de los Mártires in the heart of Granada, one that felt both cinematic and deeply personal.
