My philosophy

To me, photography is all about being an observer, a storyteller, and an artist all in one. I capture genuine experiences as they unfold so you can relive exactly what it felt like to be in each and every moment. With my photography I really want to create feelings and tell stories that last a life time. My photography is influenced by real life events, connection between people. The little smiles when you look back to your partner only to realise, they never stopped looking at you.

I want to capture the real you. A big part of my job is to create an environment, a safe space to let you shine just as you are. We are going to forget the posing and we are going to focus exactly what feels good for you. I will make sure we have time to tell your story and for you to feel comfortable. For my couples I always remind them that they are the stars of their own movie and that is exactly what we want to capture. It’s not about the perfectly posed shots, it’s about the feeling and the unique way everyone goes through life.

I want to give you emotions and chills and tears and smiles when I deliver your photos. My job is to show you something you might have never seen. The explicit uniqueness that you have and the story you have created. Your photographs should be meaningful, filled with real moments and genuine laughter, capturing your beautiful story. So whatever you want documented, I'll make sure to do it in a way that truly captures who you are, the way it felt, and showing the love that is surrounding us.

How I discovered photography

I think it was when I turned 9 when I got my first camera and I just would not let go. I took it everywhere. I photographed all my friends, the nature and everything around me. I was always saving my summer job money for a new camera or a lens. I remember my first lens was a canon 50mm f/1.4 which I still own to this day and it’s still one favourites.

It wasn’t till I started travelling on my own at 18 when I really started to focus on portraits. I was so fascinated that people wanted to be in front of my camera and let me take their photo. I still have the same feeling. I think being out of my comfort zone and travelling alone really made me look and value the connection between people. That is one of the things that inspire me the most. I learned fast that photography is not just about the camera, actually maybe the least about the camera. The energy I would bring with me transforms behind the lens, it can be magical. And that’s why till this day I do photography, I grave that feeling and that magic. I am the happiest person in the planet delivering the photos my clients, when I’m able to transform their stories into photos filled with feelings, beautiful moments and emotions. So that’s a little bit how I got in to what I still love doing.

Get to know me better

1. I love travelling

Ever since I was little my mum took me on little holidays just to teach me there is a whole world out there to experience. I am forever grateful for that and I learned so much. After when I had had a little taste of all the possibilities there are out there, I went to Australia by myself when I was 19. Since then, I am always up for a trip to go explore some place new. My dream destinations right now are South America and to visit Japan again!

2. I’m from the country of thousand lakes

Did you guess it? Finland! I really love it there and it really has made me appreciate the nature and quietness. Also Finland is the best country to do second hand shopping, that’s so much fun!

3. I love food

And coffee! I’m a pescatarian and I love trying new things. My absolute favourite dish is a truffle pasta and right now I’m really getting in to the nikkei kitchen cuisine.

4. Everything is so much better with her.

It might sound like a cliche, but it’s easier to photograph love when you know what it feels like. Besides being my partner and an amazing human being Aroha is also part of the team here. She captures the most beautiful moments on video, and we have so much fun working and documenting all the weddings and photoshoots together.

5. I love learning

Really, what ever it is, a new camera, a new book, new locations, I just really like discovering new things. Film photography has been one of my favourite things to learn and I can’t wait to spend more time doing it!
