Florence city & Villa Mangiacane elopement // Tuscany, Italy
I have to start with that to capture this day has been a dream of mine for a long time! The day from start to finish was just magical. This elopement in Florence had everything you can ever think of!
We started with a client call with Jes and Steph and asked them a few questions to know more what would their ideal elopement day include. We quickly learned that they love the liveliness of a vibrant city center but also the calmness of the countryside and most importantly wine! We instantly knew that Florence would be the perfect destination for our couple to elope. Since they had never been to Florence, the perfect way to describe it was ‘it’s like you are walking in a museum but the whole city is like that!!’.
I knew their wedding photos in Florence would look absolutely stunning and we were so excited to show Steph and Jes all the little street corners that we love and have their elopement story captured in such a unique setting. The Wedding photos in the Michelangelo steps were one of my favourites! Through out the whole day I used film to document the wedding day and the grain and couples of the my Portra 400 mixed with the Tuscan scenery were truly unbeatable.
After roaming around the city and capturing such fun documentary wedding photos in the city center of Florence we headed to the country side. As a surprise instead of a new convertible that our couple had booked with us we wanted to treat them to a vintage Herald Triumph from 1964! We were so exited to drive through the vineyards and enjoy the open air in the historical car. Again… one of my favourite photos I have ever taken.. When I said it was a dream, it really was! We had been planning this elopement for month and the idea had been living in my head rent free for a couple of years already haha!
We made a quick stop to take beautiful vineyard wedding photos and the elopement photos with our drone offered such a unique view showing the green summer scenery of Tuscany. Then we continued to our final destination, Villa Mangiacane. We were greeted by our sommelier Cosimo who showed us the beautiful estate and villa designed by Michelangelo. We truly felt the rich history around and taking our couples wedding photos in Villa Mangiacane was such an amazing experience.
We continued the evening with the wedding vows and a wine tasting that we had gifted our couple and just enjoyed the beautiful surroundings that we had there. The Villa Mangiacane elopement could not have fit our wedding couple better. We watched the sunset over the Tuscan hills and headed back to the city. Just in 30 minutes we were back greeted by the beautiful city lights of Florence. We had time for one more cocktail to finish off the day. We had the best time creating and capturing this Florence elopement and could have not wished for more from our day!
Special thanks to our elopement couple Jes and Steph for the best company ever and for trusting our vision to create the dream day for them!
